Submitting Course Work OUTSIDE an Online Learning Environment
Submission Outside WebCT: Identification Information
Each item of course work (assignments and take-home exams) submitted outside an online learning space (e.g., WebCT) is identified by the following information:
- Unique barcode number
- Student name & WSU ID number
- Course name and number and the assignment name and/or number
- Instructor Name
- Student address
Assignment identification information is included automatically with My DDP electronic submissions, the preferred method of submission described below. When you enroll in a DDP course that requires mailing or faxing (if acceptable) for any or all of the course work, follow the alternative submission options below.
Print Identification Labels: If necessary, labels can be printed from My DDP for some items: select "Current Courses," and "view" for the appropriate course, select the linked barcode number for the appropriate item (barcode numbers are linked only for items that can be mailed), and print the label when it is displayed.
When printing labels, please choose "portrait"
orientation in the "Layout" option of the print dialog box to make sure the barcode prints correctly.
Contact DDP to request labels if you cannot access "My DDP" (distance@wsu.edu).
When including identification information in files or at the top of course work pages, put the information on separate lines, double spaced, and in the order listed above (1–5).

Submitting Course Work WITHIN an Online Learning Environment
Course work submitted within an online learning environment (e.g., Blackboard) is to be submitted as directed in the online space.
Most take-home exams and study questions previously mailed to students at a specified time in the semester, or upon request, have been moved to Blackboard course spaces. You can access and retrieve the exams or study questions from the Blackboard space during a specified period of time; questions regarding non-technical issues accessing the information within the time allowed should be directed to the instructor.
All Blackboard course spaces are identified by the course name; however, courses delivered in Blackboard include all course content in addition to the discussion/announcement section within the course delivery space, while courses NOT delivered in Blackboard (e.g., those using print course guides) have only discussion/announcement spaces in Blackboard.
You are added automatically to all appropriate Blackboard course spaces. To access the spaces, you must log in to Blackboard (Blackboard login; or myWSU; choose "Academics") with your WSU Network ID (NID) and password. If you do not have a Network ID, please review the "Network ID and Login" information on the DDP help Web site (NID Help). Help with Blackboard also is available online (Support).
